By R. Subrata (TNI Siliguri) ~ Edited By D. Prasun (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 14th July, 2015: The gradual spreading of encephalitis especially in North Bengal has made health department officials seriously anxious. According to statistics till now in the current year of 2015 altogether 21 people have died from encephalitis. Among them 8 people died in this month itself. Last year total death count was more than 150. The superintendent of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital was suspended too. This year the most affected district is Cooch Behar till now. Altogether 26 persons are admitted in different hospitals with the symptoms of encephalitis. According to the superintendent of Cooch Behar M.J.N. Hospital, Dr. Joydeb Barman, one patient has been found affected by Japanese Encephalitis. However, the question is even after the horrible experience of last year, how the same story is being repeated once more?
